onveniently located off Battlefield Parkway in the heart of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School (LFO) sits in the scenic landscape of Northwest Georgia, just minutes from the Tennessee state line and Chattanooga. With easy access to Interstate 75 and U.S. Highway 27, Fort Oglethorpe is a natural stop along any recruiting trail.

LFO’s proud history dates back to 1916, when it first opened as Lakeview High School. The football program began in 1933, thanks to a donation of equipment from the U.S. Army’s 6th Cavalry Regiment. In 1973, the school became Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School after land formerly used by the Army was donated to the city of Fort Oglethorpe.

For decades, LFO Football has built a tradition rooted in toughness, pride, and community spirit. A cornerstone of that tradition is our rivalry with nearby Ringgold High School. This matchup has been played for 75+ consecutive years, making it the second-longest high school football rivalry in Georgia.

Coach Information

Coach Bryan enters his 3rd season as Head Coach of the Warriors. A native of Traphill, N.C., he played at North Wilkes High School before continuing his playing career and education at Appalachian State University. He also served as a graduate assistant for the Mountaineers.

In 1983, he became the Offensive Coordinator at Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, North Carolina. In 1986, Coach Bryan took over as Head Coach for the Bobcats and led them to 5 straight bowl games, and finished the years as the #1 ranked team in the NJCAA in 1987. He was also named Region 10 Coach of the Year three times. After a stint as the Offensive Line Coach at Southern Miss, he took over as Head Coach of Boiling Springs High in Boiling Springs, South Carolina, from 1994-1999. Coach Bryan led the Bulldogs to 8 wins in 1996, the most wins in a season for the school since 1965.

After serving as Offensive Coordinator for the newly formed Pikeville College (Ky.) Club team in 2000, he moved to UT-Chattanooga, where he remained from 2001-2003, serving as the Assistant Head Coach, while coaching the offensive and defensive line. During the 2004 season, Coach Bryan served as the Offensive Line Coach at Newberry College (S.C.), before becoming the Head Coach at Emerald High School in Greenwood, South Carolina in 2005. After leading Emerald to an 11-3 record and being named the Region Coach of the Year, he became the Head Coach at Pikeville College, from 2006-2008.

In 2009, Coach Bryan moved back to the high school ranks, serving as the Head Coach at Enka High School in Asheville, N.C. for 1 year. The following year, he became the Co-Offensive Coordinator at UT-Martin, and remained there until 2012. In 2013, he returned to Chattanooga as the Head Coach at Ooltewah High School and remained there for 5 years. During his stint with the Owls, he compiled a 45-16 record, was a 3-Time Region Coach of the Year, reached the playoffs in all 5 years, and the state quarterfinals twice. In 2018, Coach Bryan was named the Head Coach at Avery County High School in Newland, N.C., where he remained until this year.

During his coaching career, Coach Bryan has helped numerous players reach the collegiate and professional levels. He is excited to be back in an area that he considers home and looks to turn LFO into a place that people think of when they think about high school football in Northwest Georgia.

Coach Bryan resides in Fort Oglethorpe with his wife, Vickie. Together, they have two daughters and 3 grandchildren. 

Coach Dunn is a proud 2008 graduate of LFO and a former Warrior football player. With 16 years of high school coaching experience in Tennessee and Georgia, he brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to the field.

Coach Dunn began his coaching journey at Silverdale Baptist Academy under his long-time mentor Coach Larry Fleming. In 2009 he came back to LFO, where he was mentored by Defensive Line Coach David Beard. He then served as the Defensive Line Coach at Notre Dame High School for three years. While at Notre Dame, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Exceptional Education from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He later completed his Master's Degree in Special Education from Southeastern Oklahoma State and his Specialist Degree in Special Education from Northern Kentucky University.

Coach Dunn is dedicated to his family, athletes, and his students. He is married to Sara Dunn, and together they have three beautiful daughters: Stella, Nora, and Emma. He currently teaches Self-Contained Special Education at LFO and has returned to coach football, baseball, and served as the Head Boys' Soccer Coach.

Coach Gilbert, a 2014 graduate of Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High, enters his 3rd season coaching the Warriors. As a student at LFO, he lettered all four years for the Warrior Football and Track & Field Teams from 2010-2013.

Before returning to LFO, Coach Gilbert played and coached at Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa. While a player for GVU, he was part of four consecutive conference titles and playoff berths (2014-2017). He then served as a Graduate Assistant in 2019 and 2020, when the Vikings made it to the NAIA Football Semi-Finals and Quarterfinals, respectively. 

In his final year as the Outside Linebackers Coach for GVU, the Vikings made it to the NAIA National Championship and finished the season as National Runners-Up and 14-1 overall.

 
Coach Gilbert received his undergraduate in Political Studies; Public Administration, and his Masters in Organizational Leadership. He is the son of Randy and Henrietta Gilbert, and the brother of Laura Hartline, Brandon Gilbert, and Haley Gilbert.  

A 2004 graduate of LFO, Coach Hall makes his way back to the sidelines to proudly serve his Alma-Mater. Coach Hall was a part of one of the winningest teams in LFO school history, compiling an overall 28-6 record. He appeared in the GHSA Playoffs 3 times, leading LFO to their first ever playoff win in school history. A member of the 2002 Co-Region Champion team, Coach Hall was nominated Team Captain his senior year, selected 2nd Team All-Region, nominated to the 2003 GA/TN All-Star Team, and was a member of the first team to beat Dalton in LFO history.

After graduation, Coach Hall continued his football career at Shorter University, where he was a 2 year starter, and a member of the first team in school history.

Coach Hall received his Associated of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from GNTC in 2010, and finished his Bachelor's Degree at Bethel University in 2012 and is currently working as a realtor. Coach Hall is happily married to Jessica Hall (LFO Class of 2005), and together they have two wonderful boys, Asher and Mason.

A 2018 graduate of Ooltewah High School, Coach Case enters his 3rd year of coaching and 1st at LFO. Coach Case played football all four years at Ooltewah where they made the state playoffs every year, reaching the quarterfinals twice. 

After graduation, Coach Case attended the University of Tennessee where he majored in History and later got his Masters in Education.

After college, Coach Case coached at Soddy Daisy High School where he worked with the secondary for two years.

Coach Case is excited for the coming season getting to work under his high school coach and helping to get LFO back into the state playoffs for the first time in six years.

Coach Case currently lives in Hixson with his wife Grace Case where they are expecting their first child in February. They also have a dog, Daisy and a cat, Myla.

A 2013 graduate of LFO, Coach Gleaves comes back home to the sideline for his 1st year of coaching with LFO Football. Coach Gleaves played baseball, basketball, and football during his time at LFO, including a trip to the state playoffs for baseball in 2012.

After graduation, Coach Gleaves went on to serve his community in becoming a firefighter for the Catoosa County Fire Department and obtaining his EMT. Coach Gleaves has worked through the ranks and is now a lieutenant and currently over a jr. firefighter program.

Coach Gleaves married his high school sweetheart in 2018 (Sarah Gleaves- LFO class of 2013) and they currently have one child together- Stella Grace Corley Gleaves.

Coach Evans is a 2014 graduate of LFO. During his time here he was a member of the football and basketball teams for four years, the baseball team for two years and the track team for one year. Coach Evans played defensive end, wide receiver, and punter for the football team, power forward and center for the basketball team, was a catcher for the baseball team, and ran the 400m for the track team.

Following graduation, Coach Evans enlisted with the United States Air Force where he was stationed at MacDill AFB in Tampa, Florida. He was deployed twice, once to Afghanistan and once to Qatar. During his time serving in the Armed Forces, Coach Evans was awarded the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award for exceptionally meritorious service from the Pentagon.

This will be Coach Evans 1st season coaching high school football, where he will be coaching the defensive line. Coach Evans is excited to be back at LFO and to help the team succeed. 

In the past, Coach Evans has coached 5 seasons of kid pitch baseball where he has had immense success, winning many tournaments including the 2024-10u state championship.

Coach Evans currently lives in Ringgold with his wife, Peyton Evans, and their two children, Sawyer (11) and Callahan (6), along with their dogs Merritt and Hoover.
